The Linux Outlaws Theme Song

The Linux Outlaws theme music is a song called Sudo Modprobe. The original guitar riff was amateurishly hacked together by Fab on his 2004 Standard MIM Telecaster and mixed with a simple drum rhythm created in Hydrogen. This arrangement was used for the earliest episodes before Dan took it, wrote a bass rythm and additional guitar parts, changed the drums and transformed it into the amazing theme that it is now.

You can download the song (sans the sound effects) here:

  • mp3 version @ 192kbps CBR stereo, 2.4 MB
  • Ogg version @ 192kbps CBR stereo, 2.2 MB

The music is licensed under the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 3.0 license, which basically means you can use it for whatever you want as long as you don’t make money off it and give credit to us (a link would be appreciated but isn’t required). You can also create derivative works under the same conditions.

If you would like to use the song for anything in excess of this, please get in touch with us via the contact form.
