Some people love the coc, some people don't care about the coc, and some people are rubbed the wrong way by the coc. stay angry.

I think you might need to change it to ##ubuntu-fuckthecoc, since it's not an official channel. To get #ubuntu-fuckthecoc, I think you would have to be associated with the organization, and I gather you're not associated with Ubuntu.

I changed it to #fuckthecoc. I'm disappointed to be the only one in the channel though.
