They say that if the EU forgives the Island's debt and places 300 billions Euros in a container outside Islands embassy in London the government in Reykjavik will turn the volcano off.

Worry not OggCampers. Although the volcano might continue to erupt for up to a month, the prevailing weather conditions must also continue unchanged for the ash cloud to still cause a problem. At the moment it is warm, dry and sunny in the UK.

As I am sure my fellow countrymen can confirm; the chances of those weather conditions remaining in place for a British Bank Holiday are exactly .......... fuck all.

Book your tickets to OggCamp10, the only insurance you need is Wet Weather clothing and the comprehensive cover on your Car rental that includes wheel trims.

As if to confirm my thesis, the ash cloud has started to abate and all UK airports will begin flights over the next 24 hours.

OggCamp - the Barcamp volcanoes are scared of :)

I just had me an idea. If folk came from overseas and got stranded in the UK, it could get very costly to stay in commercial accommodation. If push came to shove, I could offer a sofa bed to outlaws in need. It's a couple of hundred miles south of Liverpool, but hey, it's an option, its free and it would be a cool way of making the best of a bad situation.

Can we get a "just in case" roster of UK Outlaws who could offer shelter in case of emergency?

Agreed, all us UK residents can confirm that. Good news that flights will resume soon though. I was worried about everyone who'd spent money trying to get here missing out. It wouldn't have been the same at all.

Bloody volcanoes grrr :dan:

Flight restrictions in the UK have been removed Bill, all airports are open and things are slowly getting back to normal. The wind direction is also forecast to change by the weekend which should help the situation. I think by this weekend everything will be back to normal schedule. They're just catching up with all the cancelled flights still at the moment.

Fingers crossed, but it's all looking a lot better now I'm pleased to say :)

Maybe people moving their fans really did help :D

We kept flying even when everywhere was shut down... but the main risk was with Jets and the planes that were flying high.

Looking forward to be able to get to the UK again  I'll get some beer
